DP-50 DEVELOPER
SOLUTlON PREPARATION:
- Pour one litre (1000cc) of water into a small flat plastic tray.
- Pour whole pack of DP-50 powder (50g Sodium Metasilicate) into the water.
- Gently shake the tray until all the developer has dissolved.
DEVELOPMENT:
- Place the exposed presensitised PCB in the solution and slightly shake the tray until the tracks are clearly visible and there is no more blue, smoke-like resist coming off the exposed area on the board.
- Rinse the board under running water to remove developer and to stop the developing process.
- Replace the solution when blue or developing time is excessive.
- If large parts of PCB are unused, remove emulsion with acetone or alcohol prior to development for better utilisation of developer.
NOTES:
- The correct ratio between developer and water is important but not critical. A tolerance of 20% is allowed.
- A normal developing time is from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. If the developing time is less than 30 seconds, the exposed parts of the board will be easily damaged due to the concentration of the developing solution.
- The developing process should take place at room temperature. Higher temperature may shorten the developing time.
- The usable time of solution is one day from mixing. If kept dry and uncontaminated, unmixed powder can be kept virtually indefinitely.
- The developing ability of each pack of DP-50 is about 20 PCB's (10 x 15 cm).
